To unlock the grade entry we have to extend the grace period against the respective term. Follow the path to extent grace period.

Grade Book-->Grade Book-->Structure Creation-->Select Academic year-Branch-->click on Terms option-->under Set Grace Period
click on the Edit icon against the respective structure and update the changes accordingly.
